Sometimes, I look at what posts are being read, and re-read them myself.
I did that today with this post, and came across this comment:
That is a serious question – would we as a nation, right now, recognize an honorable politician if we met one – a leader who might be accepted by all of the people as an honorable man or woman? Would it even be possible, in this age of attack advertising and hyperpartisanship, to see integrity when it is in front of us? It would be ironic, would it not, if Diogenes found the honest man but didn’t realize he had done so?
Sadly, Hippieprof passed away before the last election, but in reviewing his remarks, I’m not sure he would have truly understood that, much to all our detriment, his question was answered.
The problem with Hippie, the problem with Rutherford, the problem virtually every leftist from black racists, to feminists, to academia, to union goons, to the garden variety parasite ? They have a twisted, amoral definition of what honor means. These Leftists gave lip service to military honor but were perfectly content to lose the Iraq War if it weakened the political opposition. That’s not honor – that’s pretentious and disingenuous; demagoguery and dishonesty to gain advantage.
Barack Obama is the polar opposite of honor. Posing himself as Lincoln? The suggestion is so ludicrous, I can’t even bring myself to listen to the man anymore. Please…If this last election proved anything else beyond a shadow of a doubt, the recognition of real honor is most definitely minority talent.
In fairness, the door swings both ways as there are a great many dishonorable Republicans, many calling themselves Conservative wrapped in the family values banner (I’m not even sure what that stupid cliche really means) that are equally as dishonorable.
Tex very good points indeed. I personally believe we as a national population have developed such a monumental level of selfishness that any connections to things like honor, independence and sacrifice for example are indeed lacking and near impossible to find the connections. That really sucks!
As a ps kind of thing to the post. I am hugely biased but I do feel we as a nation missed an opportunity to seat a POTUS that had a lot of virtues. A true missed opportunity.
I’ll go one better, Alfie. I think God gave us a choice of polar opposites, a clear and distinct choice, and we chose poorly.
Like the bumper sticker say, “Mitt Romney offered jobs to a country that didn’t want to work.”
And we will pay for it dearly. All of us.
On the subject of integrity etc. and election outcomes I came across some video that the leftards are crowing about. It was Lizzie Warren acting tough in her first committee meeting and she really showed her colors and her fans idiocy too. She was all upset and tough guy on the heads of a handful of the agency heads that regulate Wall St and banks completely failing to see her own hypocrisy.
I envision a number of folks having wet dreams over the coverage and the spin has been atrociously biased. Seriously I read one report and I was like “Did I watch the wrong meeting”???
Her new t-shirt line “Too big to fail means too big for trial” will be coming to stores soon.
OMG!
I don’t mean this in a sacrileges way but when I read that I honestly had the scene from the Indiana Jones movie flash through my head, the one with the old knight and the crumbling cave. The symbolism is perfect.
Does that fucking idiot Rutherford still think that Obama’s a God?
I have no idea. Once I slipped and threw my back out in the Obama slobber over there, I quit going.
