Am I the only one who doesn’t feel right calling it a terrorist bombing when no group has taken credit for this?
Question.

- "I want these “…and I’m a communist” dumbshits to have a Coming to Jesus moment that they will NEVER forget. I want them staring in to the eyes of every American who knows that government has very specifically designated roles, and are fed-up to their eyeballs with the overeaching, paternalistic, oppressive monster that the Left (with help from the establishment Right) set loose on us. I want those greedy, lazy, control-freaky bastards quaking with fear when they are met with an electorate determined to wrest their liberties, including the right to fail, back from a government that would enslave us all to the service of a soul-killing mediocrity. I want their asses so horrifiyingly and memorably whipped that the mere memory will cow a century’s worth of socialist/communist/marxist acoyltes into an ashamed silence." ________________________________ "When a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we no longer have a Constitution, we are under the government of individual men, who for the time being have power to declare what the Constitution is according to their own views of what it ought to mean."--Justice Curtis, Dissent, Dred Scott v. Sanford
- "The very idea of power, and the right of the people to establish government, presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established Government. All obstructions to the execution of its laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberations and actions of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency."- George Washington

Why wait for someone to lay claim? Palin and right-wing rhetoric were responsible.
i hear tell Palin is from Chechnya…
From the linked article
Following past major attacks, Putin has used the threat of terrorism as a pretext to consolidate his control and justify new curbs on democracy and civil rights.
They calls them like they need to see them…
With no concrete evidence to link the action to any particular source and no specific group claiming responsibility, labeling it a “terrorist bombing” could indeed be premature.
Well, I suppose it could have been for another reason. What is the history of ex-husbands using bombs in public places to rid themselves of ex-wives? Or Russian mafia sending a warning to businesses in the airport to pay their protection money on time, by blowing up countless random people in public places? Maybe it was a location dispute between two airport vendors?
Yeah, I suppose it could have been something else, or even a black op by the Russian goverment to scare people into giving them even more control. But how about using Occam’s Razor? An act just like most terrorist attacks up until now is likely another terrorist attack.
If it was not terrorism what was it? Urban renewal?
It never does any good whatsoever to jump to conclusions when the facts are not all in. Case-in-point:
1.) The Times Square bomber was not a white guy (sorry, Contessa Brewer!)
2.) The IRS plane crash-guy was not a right winger. C’mon, he quoted from the damned Communist Manifesto!
3.) Nidal Hassan wasn’t white, and did not act because of PTSD by proxy.
4.) John Lee Muhammad was not a white guy, and his actions did, indeed, have ties to Islam
Of course, the opposite was assumed in all of the cases above by a slathering, excitable press (who forgot about all four stories the instant they found out that they didn’t fit the “Narrative”).
So, like I said, it never does much to assume things in situations like this. However, I will say that I suspect Chechyn Islamist radicals to be to blame. I also suspect that the reason that they’ve failed to claim responsibility is two fold:
1.) it isn’t necessary – the Russians know.
2.) For purposes of survival, it is a good thing to not spend your time blowing up Russians and then gloating about it. Thy aren’t gentle about their reprisals like we Americans are.
Goober, I think you’ve pegged it perfectly.
Russians deal with terrorism far more effectively – though I don’t trust Putin any further than I could throw him, let’s face it. The man knows how to deal with thugs, because he is one.
Unlike America where we run to every scene demanding to know the who, what and where, the Reds apparently are more than happy to gather a few facts and then reign hell at the most inopportune time. Somehow, I doubt Putin is concerning himself with what would constitute a fair trial at this moment, and I doubt Russian prisoners are gaining weight or playing with soccer ball in the gulags.
Christ… Every-body-on-the-planet knows it was my doing.
Besides, we all know that Palin’s hateful statement that she could “see Russia from her back yard” is what caused this right-wing nutbag to blow up the train station. Palin’s constant demagoguery of Russia, and her none-to-nuanced statements leading us all to believe that there is something sinister about being close to Russia, have obviously twisted the minds of right-wingers in Russia who have acted on Palin’s “dog-whistle” call to destroy/kill/destroy…
