Lindsey Graham (I)diot, gives yet another reason why he is ready for retirement:
“I wish we could find some way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we’re in a war. During World War II, you had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy. Burning a Koran is a terrible thing, but it doesn’t justify killing someone.”
Well, Hell. Who knew? Calling the Japanese “Japs” and the Germans “Krauts” could have been brought to a screeching halt, if the Japanese and the Germans let us know that they were killing us because we called them names.
Last I looked, restricting freedom to express an opinion, even when it is expressed stupidly, to appease an enemy wasn’t a winning strategy. Maybe we need to make Lindsay write “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” a thousand times, and then publically apologize.
