And from a state Bar Association in one of the most Liberal-populated states, you expected ……?
Political correctness will be this nation to her knees. At least, that’s their plan.
bring, not be
I bet Obama is the centerfold on that particular bit of literature.
Mother of God!!!!!
I told you.
This is my point. Stuff like this can’t be good for America.
Don’t blame me. I don’t support this nonsense.
What a farce. 😡 The Law equivalent of corporate America’s sexual harassment classes, where ugly women are granted permission to practice misandry and men are labeled pigs and apes. But at least we got paid for that.
Resurrect Johnny Cochran and bring in a couple of honky haters, a couple of CAIR types, and I’ll bet money there’s some bowl haircut Lynne Stewart wannabees leading the “convention.”
What I want to know is
1. How do lawyers have the time to attend shit like this?
2. What influence does this have on said lawyers?
3. Do they walk out of these things like sales dorks do after some cheesy convention in Laughlin, Nevada….high fiven’ one another in the parking lot all ramped up to sue sue sue?
Then again, maybe it worse when people from my profession go to things like this. And, I’m sure they do all the time.
“What influence does this have on said lawyers?”
It’s been known to turn some into teachers.
The rest sue teachers — all ginned up by the high fives and “whoot-whoots” in the parking lot.
Does the DOE put this on?
lol…..I’m sure the DOE has some equivalent.
Oh, and you MAKE time for important shit like this. 🙄 And I would never walk out of something I paid good money to heckle.
Quit being a hater! These are topics some douche bags came up with to charge a fee to present and market their practice areas. These CLEs are like the “woman’s studies” electives you can sign up for in college if you want to waste your parent’s tuition money for any easy but worthless grade.
1. How do lawyers have the time to attend shit like this?
Rabbit, in Washington, I have to get 15 CLE credits a year. Three of those have to be “ethics” credits. Most all-day programs have 1 ethics credit with the rest being general credits. The problem is that that ethics hour is usually the last one, and a lot of them leave before that hour. So then they get in a pinch and need ethics credits. This program is all ethics, so not only will many of my tribe gladly pay to attend, they will go.
2. What influence does this have on said lawyers?
Depends on the lawyer. How many teachers get all ramped up and enthusiastic about the “latest, greatest teaching technique” you lern about at in-service days?
3. Do they walk out of these things like sales dorks do after some cheesy convention in Laughlin, Nevada….high fiven’ one another in the parking lot all ramped up to sue sue sue?
No. Most of the time, if I’m lucky, I learn one or two interesting things I didn’t learn before that I can use in my practice.
Shhhh. I pretend I’m going to the bathroom after 5 minutes before the first break and never return. 😆
No matter how bad I needed my one ethics hour, it wouldn’t be for some shit like this. I have no standards — and this doesn’t meet them.
BiW, if this were here, Atlanta for Christ’s sake, it would be empty. Online CLE where you could turn on the player, minimize the screen, and do billable work. . . eh, maybe.
Don’t rat me out and I’ll pretend you pay attention to CLE materials presented by inferior attorneys with less experience on topics you are well versed in, okay?
p.s. I’ve presented at CLEs here (panel) and can still straight faced say they are rackets for the most part. A few are excellent (I’ve always enjoyed McElheney), but most stink to high heaven, like this obvious stinking pile. If you need hours, please attend and give us a report.
“How many teachers get all ramped up and enthusiastic about the “latest, greatest teaching technique””?
You have no idea how nauseating it can be at these things for me. I swear they make us get up and clap hands and sing.
I refuse to do it. Refuse.
It’s the damn female elementary teachers. it’s like they are from a different planet.
I’d say about 35% of all teachers are Politically Correct phonies and total rubes.
Tigre,
I just went to one on Thursday on Easements and encumbrances put on by Walt Robillard. I understand he’s from your neck of the woods. There were more surveyors and engineers in it than attorneys.
Can’t say that I’ve heard of him. Not surprised by the turnout though. Anything finance or property related draw the “other” professionals in my experience. Which is why I need a report on this program!
I’ve always found the cont-ed concept, especially for white collar professionals to be kinda a crazy ass idea.
CE is an absolute racket that adheres to the saying:
“Those that know do,those that don’t teach”.
I offer that not as an insult to teachers/instructors who actually teach something, just the sham stuff like CE.
It’s a sham. Most though are practitioners promoting their practice; not educators.
Sounds like our CE programs in EMS anymore. How to not note the fact that a DV “victim” has no visable trauma without giving that sad little fact away, and other such PC topics…
