It seems to me that on MLK day, the real story is how far we have come as a nation, and that it shouldn’t be decided by the fact that we have an African American President, AG, Presidential Advisors, Supreme Court Justice, and EPA head, but the fact that so many of them are corrupt, incompetent, mendacious, or otherwise unacceptable.
I mean despite the Democrats’ apparent belief that “content of character” actually means “racial identity of office holder”, it still is a remarkable feat to have convinced so many Americans that this is the case, allowing these people to become a bloodsucking embarrassment to the Republic, and deflect any and all deserved and reasonable criticism of their considerable shortcomings as “racist”, and completely underserving of a fair hearing.
It really is quite remarkable when you think about it, and even while doing a double facepalm about it in the Great Beyond, Dr. King might have to admit that while it isn’t the “progress” he was seeking, it is progress nonetheless.
It’s also Robert E. Lee Day…
Just saying…
Yes evil finds equality in modern day America. Somehow I don’t think that was the promised land MLK got a glimpse of from the mountaintop. It certainly goes to show corruption isn’t partial to skin color.
Note the old adage via Barron Action: “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”, did not have a clause anywhere excluding any member of any race, religion, creed, or national origin. But we are supposed to give those of a different skin color a pass? Seems like the antithesis of Dr. Kings speech, But than again, what do I know, ol’ retired white Sailor and all.
Could be wrong, but I think I’m pretty sure I’m right…
Martin Luther King would be aghast at what has happened in his own community.
Consider:
Epidemic out of wedlock childbirths, almost half of the black population functionally illiterate of their own choosing, disproportionate murder and incarceration rates, Freaknik and gangstas, vulgar rap objectifying Ho’s, pride in the reprobate while men like Clarence Thomas are referred to as Uncle Tom’s and house boy for the SCOTUS.
The civil rights leaders has a since of self-worth, community and yearning for freedom – many of them (but not all as Jesse Jackson claims to be one) were good men, family men, responsible men.
If this is the mountain top King was looking from, it certainly wasn’t viewing across the Jordan to the land of milk and honey. More like the mole hill viewing the milking teat of sloth and deprivation.
I’m pretty sure MLK is spinning in his grave, at about 3600 RPM and gaining momentum. I sure wish he could share his thoughts with us today, but I’m afraid the Lamestream Clueless Media would call him an Uncle Tom, or worse!
