I want them staring in to the eyes of every American who knows that government has very specifically designated roles, and are fed-up to their eyeballs with the overeaching, paternalistic, oppressive monster that the Left (with help from the establishment Right) set loose on us. I want those greedy, lazy, control-freaky bastards quaking with fear when they are met with an electorate determined to wrest their liberties, including the right to fail, back from a government that would enslave us all to the service of a soul-killing mediocrity. I want their asses so horrifiyingly and memorably whipped that the mere memory will cow a century’s worth of socialist/communist/marxist acoyltes into an ashamed silence." ________________________________ "When a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we no longer have a Constitution, we are under the government of individual men, who for the time being have power to declare what the Constitution is according to their own views of what it ought to mean."--Justice Curtis, Dissent, Dred Scott v. Sanford

Hopefully this blog will not survive long term because history will show you to be a fool. A melodramatic and opportunistic one at that.
But don’t worry, I am no fool. If Obama is reelected I know full well you and yours will find some excuse to impeach him. Hopefully it will end like Clinton with you looking purely political and Obama cementing his place among Presidents who left a valuable legacy.
Cheers.
A valuable legacy of what NOT to do as President.
Define “long-term”. Its been published in one form or another since 2005.
And considering the foolishness you’ve been publishing since mid 2011, your finger wagging my give me irony poisoning.
But back to the topic at hand…the way that this story is bleeding out from every quarter, there can be no explanation which doesn’t reveal a situation where the President knew and DID NOTHING, or SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, and in that case also failed at his job.
But I guess as you’re his number one sychophant, you’re ok with being lied to about it by the gang that couldn’t shoot straight for weeks on end when they knew better before ever uttering the lie.
My language was imprecise. I wasn’t referring to the current age of your blog. I was suggesting that for your sake I hope the blog won’t be around for future generations to see your silliness. As for my blog, it’s been around since 2007 but I’m cheered to learn you only found it asinine starting in 2011. At least I got in four good years.
Back to the topic at hand … you of all people, an attorney, should believe in every case getting a fair hearing. All any of us know is the product of biased, confused and incomplete reports. Your calling for the President’s head ranks right up there with my blaming the death of a census worker on the Tea Party. It’s the same world in which folks call for George Zimmerman’s head before all the evidence is in. That’s the gang you’re running with right now.
Give time for the facts to emerge. There have already been congressional hearings … call for more of them. If the REAL evidence leads to a lapse in the President’s performance then by all means ask for his head.
At this point, the criticism is premature. And the timing of the criticism is most suspect.
No, the criticism is NOT premature.
There is now NO doubt that the White House LIED to the country repeatedly about the reason and nature of the attack. That alone should not be ignored or shrugged off, especially with 4 dead Americans, one of them an Ambassador.
And now, with the story of the one person in the chain of command not willing to simply “bear witness” with assets on the scene AND OTHERS AVAILABLE TO HAVE ON SITE in ONE HOUR or LESS, and the knowledge that it was being watched in real time in the situation room, isn’t something that is easy to understand, especially now that President Present refuses to be asked about it, and that the White House isn’t doing press briefings any more. HE WORKS FOR US, and we have EVERY RIGHT to ask questions, and draw conclusions from conspicuous silence as much as from a nondenial denial.
What you forget in your myopic and incomplete analysis of my profession is that when people refuse to mount a defense, or phone it in, the trier of fact will STILL make a decision that will be drawn from the evidence available, even if that means “drawing comclusions”. If there is no story here, Obama and Biden (ok, just Obama) should be explaining this everywhere. They aren’t doing so BECAUSE THEY CAN’T…either he did nothing, or more unlikely, he didn’t know, which as the leader, is STILL his problem, and doesn’t inspire a desire to send him back to do it for another four years.
Either way, brave men died because either he, or someone in his administration LET THEM DIE. Its dispicable, and it needs to be addressed.
And Clinton lost his license to practice because of his perjury, as well as having left a stain on the Presidency as well as a dress.
It isn’t “political” to expect a minimum standard of conduct from a married man who is the leader of the free world.
Does one only have to be leader of the Free World for the bar to be so high? Where’s your outrage against Newt Gingrich, cheating while pursuing the cheater? How about David Vitter? Your outrage is selective.
Were either of them in the Oval Office when they did it? And then did either of them lie UNDER OATH about it?
What they did was not ok, although Newt, to his credit is by all accounts happily married and much more serious about his Catholicism then he ever appeared to be about his faith before that.
And while what they did was wrong, neither of them was the FACE of a nation, on call 24/7 and getting hummers in the seat of power (quite literally) from someone who could have been their daughter.
Yes, lying under oath IS a big problem, and yes, disbarment for perjury was the least of what should have happened to him.
Did I miss something? Rutherford’s is a bizarrely personalized reaction to what was posted.
A personalized reaction to a personalized post. Premature to be calling anyone a coward.
An even more bizarre sur-reply. You are neither Obama nor his keeper. 🙄
Some of us do feel obligated to defend the President if we think he’s being unfairly or prematurely judged,
Yeah…the “unfairly” thing goes out the window when it becomes clear that:
(1) His administration has LIED to us…REPEATEDLY;
(2) And that he’s avoiding questions, as are his staff.
I think my observation about the amount of time he spends mouthing off about a God he claims doesn’t exist might have struck a nerve.
To be clear, I believe some sort of higher force may or may not exist. I also believe Christ, if he lived at all, was born because his parent had intercourse and he died the same way all of us do … permanently.
To be clear, I believe some sort of higher force may or may not exist.
What a meaningless phrase. I believe that something may or may not exist. Way to take a stand. Its kind of like saying “Depending on which way the wind blows, I’ll land on this side of the fence or the other.
Let’s pretend for the moment that there was actually some content in that brave declaration. WHY do you believe that? I’m genuinely curious to know at this point.
Kooky.
I also believe Christ, if he lived at all,
More than ample historical evidence that he did.
I’d never waste time asserting he didn’t. I only threw in the “if he did” because his life is part and parcel of a Bible that I personally believe is predominantly fictional. But I kinda think denying Christ’s existence is a bit like being a truther. I think it’s pretty well established he lived.
As for “may or may not exist”. That has nothing to do with fence straddling or lacking the courage of one’s convictions. Earlier this week Tex suggested that I don’t marvel at this grand universe we live in. Of course I do. I don’t believe science explains everything and I’m not sure it will EVER explain everything. I believe some things are unknowable. Some force of nature that we cannot define may have put everything in motion. I simply don’t know. But I do know with greater certainty each passing day that this force has no moral inclination, did not father a divine human being, and does not interfere with the daily goings on of ordinary people in the here and now.
Well, THAT was a bold declaration, but my question is still unanswered.
What has made your certainty so great? Been watching old COSMOS episodes?
The “universe” told you that Godbother was just a bunch of nonsense?
Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?
Well, perhaps I take the intellectually lazy route but I know of no known case in which a woman conceived a child without the contribution of a man’s sperm. That’s in all of history and is consistent with biology as taught for ages. So I think the odds are more in favor of Christ’s immaculate conception being just a story than that it happened in fact.
You know this line of back and forth is fruitless. At least with the Benghazi tragedy we can argue facts … I submit neither of us knows enough of the facts to render judgment. But with religion, your fact is my fantasy and they’re irreconcilable.
So you don’t “know” anything. But you’re perfectly willing to believe it. Got it.
Seems to me you’ve described yourself as well BiW.
You wish.
I can explain the basis for my beliefs. You, apparently, can not.
I don’t doubt you can prove the basis for your belief that Christ lived. As I said this is an argument not worth having. I am completely comfortable acknowledging Christ as the predecessor of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.
Sorry BiW but you CANNOT prove he rose from the dead.
Depends which court your choose to play. Scientifically with physical proof? No, I can’t.
But you don’t measure historical proof with the scientific method. For one thing, you can neither observe nor repeat the test.
You use the physical evidence as in a court of law. Christians have over 6,000 manuscripts or pieces of manuscripts, written in three languages, containing over 500 eye witnesses who lived during this time who attested that Christ lived after crucified before He ascended into heaven. We’ve got physical proof the Old Testament you read today is the Old Testament of 2,700 years ago. All of the New Testament was written within 60 years of Christ’s death and resurrection.
Where was the large outcry of historical protest, being this new religion called ‘The Way’ was threatening enough to Jew and Roman alike, that thousands of Christians lost their lives in the Colosseum for their beliefs and refusal to bow to Caesar.
You’ve got hundreds of eye witnesses of Christ’s physical death – all in line with Roman form of execution, including the method of scarring and spear to the side for verification.
Moreso, no one from that same period left little or anything disputing these claims in writing that we can find. We know it was death for the Roman guard to allow a crucified body to be removed when entombed, but we have no body.
In a court of law concerning the evidence and the witness? Slam dunk Christ was crucified and resurrected.
Tex if we look at the testimony of at least 500 people over the past 20 or so years we will find them discovering the face of Christ in a potato chip, a tree trunk, etc. These people are called nutjobs because they live in the modern world.
The people you point to are portrayed to us by third parties in an age of ignorance. I’m sorry my friend, you can believe what you want, especially if you find comfort in it but in my book believing in Christ’s resurrection is no different from believing in Santa Claus. You counter that how could a mere hoax have survived so long and inspired so many? I point you to a microcosm of the situation, one of a con man and hustler named Joseph Smith who founded a completely bogus “religion” that survives to this day and has sufficient credibility that a Presidential nominee can follow it and not be laughed at.
If Mormonism, a hoax pulled out of whole cloth, can survive, certainly the more elaborate, better funded, and more powerful Christian church can survive.
Did those 500 Jesus potato chip followers split time, change the world, form Western Culture of which you are a benefactor? Did they establish the laws of our civilization, give us the greatest architecture, works, arts, music of history? Did it establish modern health care or the Salvation Army?
Does that appear sound analogy now?
Did these potato chip loons you speak start a movement that changed the world, or are you in denial of Christianity, its history and its works too? Do these loons you speak bravely go to their deaths, refusing to deny their savior, willing to sacrifice their own blood for the cause?
You are nothing unique, Rutherford. Men and women far more intelligent and worldly like you once ruled the Roman Empire and scoffed at ‘The Way.’ 300 years later, their progeny of a once Great Empire was but a remnant, and in its place was the foundation of the Christian Church they had once persecuted. Things don’t happen by chance by a God that doesn’t simply change people, but moves nations. The fact that you can’t comprehend that only provides indication your without wisdom and foresight.
Let us step back put you and your god, your mission on trial for one moment.
What benefit has your agnosticism brought the world? What do you do to make the world a more hopeful and peaceful place on a personal basis? Your Obama vote? Four years later, those grandiose promises by your progressive patriarch of lost causes lay in waste, broken promises and unfulfilled dreams its conclusion – your utopia of false dreams smashed within two years. Instead of admitting mistake, you so foolish to then double down. That is the definition of stupidity.
And yet, you still deny. So let me ask you a more personal question.
What has your quasi once worshipped Obama brought you? Let me answer for you. Nothing. The only thing you and your ilk have contributed is war, death, disease, poverty, and misery. You are the worst form of ingrate, without thanks. Without even an acknowledgement of your existence due to only Him. You will one day stand before the throne of God and be broken, recognizing what an enormous fool you have been. You will curse the day you were born and everybody that failed you.
But I need not condemn you – you do well enough by yourself. I’m just the messenger boy, speaking truth.
Once again Rutherford, you have demonstrated to me you are shallow and poorly read – a man incapable of recognize his own weakness and incapable of reflection, a product of your childhood from a corrupted lineage without the good sense to identify a purpose of existence. You and yours are mindless reflex and reaction.
You beat your chest in exultation of your wisdom, not recognizing the emptiness of your message and the finality of its failure. Your god is one of MSNBC and its ship of fools. There is nothing edifying about you and you inspire nothing but hopelessness and misery. I pity your child. Her father is failing her in the most important tenet in all of life, just as your mother failed you.
Christianity as been tried for almost 2,000 years, never proven wrong though many heretics like you have tried, and growing faster than ever, even if you do everything possible to ridicule and roadblock. Christianity is the anvil of which lies the millions of broken hammers who once tried to break its foundation. Weaklings like you don’t even rate amongst the hammers – you are a Q-Tip slamming the granite cliff before you.
Believe as you must and die in your foolishness. The world will keep on spinning just fine without you, as they divvy up what possession you own and you become a distance memory, eventually to be forgotten. Dust in the wind. I have no intention of joining you and your feckless cause.
Tex, that has to be one of the strangest soliloquies I’ve ever read. You mixed politics and religion for no good reason at all. But the bottom line is, with all your religiosity you too will go in the dustbin of history never to remembered by anyone centuries from now (unless you’re more famous than I know).
By the way, since you inexplicably mixed religion and politics …. a good many devout Christians voted for Barack Obama and will do so again.
Tex, I was reading Hosea last night, and when I got to 10:13, I stopped, and marveled again at how much things remain the same for all the “change” that man in his own wisdom has wrought.
BTW Tex, I see you didn’t touch the Mormon thing with a ten foot pole. Cos you know it’s a scam right? You good with Scientology too Tex?
I don’t doubt you can prove the basis for your belief that Christ lived. As I said this is an argument not worth having. I am completely comfortable acknowledging Christ as the predecessor of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.
Sorry BiW but you CANNOT prove he rose from the dead.
I don’t have to. I know the Book contains good answers to the question “How Should We Then Live”, and I know that using it for an example has been beneficial to countless people.
You like to crack snide about Glenn Beck, and that’s fine. Lefties react to truth like vampires do to garlic. But whether you love or hate his politics, which are frequently also opposed to Republicans (you might Google some of the things he has to say about Newt), when he hit bottom, he found something he had been missing, and he turned his life around.
He got busy, and found a way to build something he hadn’t had before. And in the process, he built a very successful business, was directly responsible for more real job creation in the last three years than Obama could dream of, built a great charity, and a non-profit business that makes clothing in America, and provides jobs for single moms while doing it, which is something that Bathtub Boy Olbermann, and the entire crew at MSLSD couldn’t, and wouldn’t do. And while he doesn’t really sleep anymore, he is doing something directly to help other people make their lives better.
That motivation didn’t come from a psychologist, that came from a belief in God. You keep sneering, he’ll keep doing what he’s doing, and people who don’t see the world through MSLSD’s prism with continue to see who he really is.
BiW, if belief in God and a divine Jesus prevented Glenn from dying a cocaine addled mess, then more power to him. Religion is the only fantasy recommended by professionals to heal an ailing soul. Any other forms of fantasy get you labeled delusional.
Glenn is crazy as the day is long … or maybe just crazy like a fox. The question remains do all the people he’s employed and enriched outweigh all the people he has mislead with his foolishness? The jury is out for me on that one.
I’m not Mormon. I’m Christian, remember? But if you insist…
Our election is secular. And most Mormons carry themselves more morally then anything you are capable. I would favor a candidate that is true to his or her faith and not be of my religion, than a heretic like Obama who claims my faith as convenience for political expediency. Even a neo pagan like you has acknowledged that much. Obama is a phony.
There are many who call themselves Christian who aren’t. Scripture tells us as much. There are people that may think they are devout Christians voting for Obama. I question both their sincerity and judgment, and their knowledge of scripture. You don’t come to the conclusions of following Christ and vote for Pharisees like Obama. Obama is antithetical to the Christian faith in more ways than I can count.
I stand by that.
