I have to wonder if Scott, who I am ashamed to say is at my alma mater, actually took the time to find out about the conduct of those peace-loving humanitarians and “pro-Palestinian” activists? Because I’m not convinced the truth reflects the same thing he seems to be talking about in his quote:
Kinda puts a different perpective on the peace-loving pro-Palestinian activists the legacy media have come to know and love, doesn’t it?
It rather seems like it is the old “stand by to repel boarding party” drill to me. I am sure no boat’s captain wants to be boarded. On the other hand, the boarding party claims that they are justified in assuring that no arms are in the shipment. There seems to be plenty of wrong to go around here. Maybe we should just encourage them to shoot it out, and we will be happy to talk with the winner, if there is one left able to speak.
The Israelis told these krypto-terrorists that they could drop their supplies at a port in Israel to which the pro- terrorist “humanitarian activists” balked.
If these “humanitarians” were really concerned with “Palestinian” welfare they would have done so. Their presence there was to be as agent provocateur.
Everyone knows that any supplies would have gotten to the “Palestinians” as by world acclaimation there are only two countries that have to militarily and financially underwrite their own destruction: the United States and Israel.
As for letting them fight it out. Not a bad suggestion except that anything Israel does will be considered a “disproportionate” response and civilian clad terrorists who draw fire into civilian areas will be mourned by the interantional lynch mobs as a war crime. All with the tacit blessing of Obama and his rabidly arabist state department. Both of whom have never met a prosperous, puralistic country that they could ever support.

I beg to disagree. I’m sure THAT boat captain certainly wanted to be boarded. Even the best propagandist needs some “event” on which to build their bullshit.

I suppose it depends on whether you think their purpose was to get their cargo to the port they had chosen, or if it was to create an incident at sea for propaganda purposes. A rational ship’s master does not risk his ship, but no one would accuse the Palestinians of being rational.
Israel Navy: “Mavi Marmara, you are approaching an area of hostilities which is under a naval blockade. The Gaza area coastal region and Gaza harbor are closed to all maritime traffic. The Israeli government supports delivery of humanitarian supplies to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip and invites you to enter the Ashdod port. Delivery of supplies in accordance with the authorities’ regulations will be through the formal land crossings and under your observation, after which you can return to your home ports on the vessels on which you have arrived.”
Response: “Negative, negative.”
The Hamas flotilla deserved to be blown out of the water.
"I want these “…and I’m a communist” dumbshits to have a Coming to Jesus moment that they will NEVER forget. I want them staring in to the eyes of every American who knows that government has very specifically designated roles, and are fed-up to their eyeballs with the overeaching, paternalistic, oppressive monster that the Left (with help from the establishment Right) set loose on us. I want those greedy, lazy, control-freaky bastards quaking with fear when they are met with an electorate determined to wrest their liberties, including the right to fail, back from a government that would enslave us all to the service of a soul-killing mediocrity. I want their asses so horrifiyingly and memorably whipped that the mere memory will cow a century’s worth of socialist/communist/marxist acoyltes into an ashamed silence."

"The very idea of power, and the right of the people to establish government, presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established Government. All obstructions to the execution of its laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberations and actions of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency."- George Washington

No sir there isn’t.

I go with B. Or two. You didn’t label the choices.
