…it’s what the underlying motive is.
It started with this moment in a speech in September:
Its just awkward. He stops, then he starts blinking, almost as if he’s trying to scroll past that pesky “by their Creator” part. If this was one time, it would have probably been forgotten by now, but he’s left it out two more times since.
As a matter of speculation, I don’t think he is doing it to spite the “bitter clingers”. When he is showing his spite, his mannerisms come across like someone who thinks that they are being clever, and that only he and his buddies are in on the joke. Who could forget these images:
I think he actually has trouble with the concept of a Creator.
It’s one thing to invoke God when you’re talking to the rubes. It doesn’t require any serious consideration for any politician to toss out a “God Bless America” when there is an open mic. It’s cotton candy for the believers in the electorate, and the speaker can invest the phrase with the same enthusiasm that they might otherwise reserve for a “And That’s Why I’m Asking For Your Vote!” It’s as reflexive as sitting in the same pew for twenty years and never actually thinking that a Christian pastor wouldn’t say “God Damn America”, and preach about “chickens coming home to roost” as a nation mourned at the sight of smoldering rubble where 3000+ Americans and commercial air travel as we knew it died because members of the Religion of Peace did an unspeakbly unpeaceful thing. Unlike these things, the Declaration of Independence is a difficult thing. More than a “We want a divorce” letter to King George, this was the Charter, albeit like no other, that spoke a new nation into existence.
It put into words the truth that unalienable rights exist for every person, and that they come from no man or government, but from a Creator, who empowered his creations to abolish any government that abdicates its duties to safeguard those rights. It is a milestone in the concept of limited government with the limitation being the will of the people who the government exists to serve, and that this is by design.
We know that the President already has a problem with the idea of limited government. He told us so when he talked about what he perceived to be the fundamental flaw in the Constitution…that it is a “Charter of negative liberties”. (at 1:15)
Never mind that he gets the concept wrong, given the nature of his approach to it, this simply isn’t surprising. It isn’t a Charter at all. A Charter is a grant of rights from the sovereign. It is a recognition of the authority inherent in the Sovereign and the basis for the rights granted by it. The best modern-day equivalent would be the Articles of Incorporation issued by the state to a corporation. The Constitution states the rules by which the entity will operate. That makes it akin to the bylaws of a corporation. But as you hear him tell it, his concern with government is what it can do for you. On its face, that fails to recognize that the idea of limited government at the heart of the Founders’ and Framers’ core philosophy. They believed that they were very clear about what government was to do, and equally clear that the rest was for us. They knew that this was the best means of preserving our liberties. The only party being “negatively” affected by this philosophy and these bylaws as they were originally written was government itself. That’s what makes this audio so telling about his approach to thinking about this, and it is why I believe that he has a problem with the concept of a Creator.
These words are probably the weightiest written by any American. Even he cannot read them aloud and not feel the conviction of their meaning. If he reads the offending passages aloud, then he is acknowledging that there is a limitation to government. It means that government’s role is a limited one. It means that the rights that matter do not come from government; government can preserve and defend these rights, or government can impede them, but government cannot be the source of them. And it means that if government does impede them, then government is answerable to the people themselves, because its rights originate with them…they are the creator. This turns his philosophy on its head, and threatens not only his worldview, but the grand plans he has for us all. This is why he doesn’t get it. This is why he can’t understand our attitude when he thinks we should be thanking him. And this is why a man who campaigned as a uniter is probably the most divisive figure ever in American Politics.
I don’t believe Obama a Muslim. But I don’ t believe Obama a Christian either. Obama is what he needs to be at a moment in time. Obama is first and foremost a narcissist – and I believe he sees himself not just President of the United States, but something much more – a “gift” to all of mankind. It’s not enough that Obama has imbeciles fainting in the aisles of America while he mouths platitudes. No, Obama campaigned in Europe too to masses of lost souls strung across the continent. Why? Because he feeds of the adulation?
If Obama weren’t a politician looking to impress or paint a pretty picture to pander for a vote, my best guess is that Obama is completely secular, believing in his own wisdom and his own guidance.
Does Obama believe in a Creator? Perhaps. But a better question would be to ask Obama exactly who he believes Jesus Christ is. Obama does profess to be a Christian. But being a Christian is not to be inclusive – just the opposite. And from past history and every thing I’ve heard and read, I think Obama’s answer in his professed faith would fall very flat with true believers in Christ.
For instance, these words from Obama:
“Which passages of Scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is ok and that eating shellfish is abomination? How about Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith? Or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount – a passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defense Department
would survive its application?
The verses from Leviticus and Deuteronomy demonstrate profound ignorance of Jewish law, the culture of 3,200 years ago, and Old Testament scripture. The reference to the Sermon on the Mount is superficial mockery. These certainly are not words from a Christian. But more importantly, Obama then added this to conclude his speech:
“I think it’s time that we join a serious debate about how to reconcile faith with our modern, pluralistic democracy.”
Did you catch that? Reconcile our faith? Where in the Bible did Christ tell us to reconcile our faith with a pluralistic society? To reconcile our faith with the modern culture? Obama’s suggestion is straight out of the Humanist Manifesto.
So I ask, which one of these would Obama not fit?
(1) Arrogance
(2) Untruthful
(3) Hands that shed innocent blood
(4) A heart that devises wicked schemes
(5) Feet that are quick to rush into evil
(6) A false witness
(7) A man who stirs up dissension among brothers?
Because I just provided the seven items from Proverbs that The Word tells us are detestable to the Lord. It wouldn’t take much of an effort for me to prove in Barack Obama’s 21 months as President, Obama has been chronically guilty on numerous occasions of all of them.
I don’t just question Obama’s truthfulness or his decisions which have led to his dismal performance. I question his very convictions…
As I posted before, he has done it 4 times. Some dumbasses think he is a real Christian. What real Christian would deliberately remove it time and time again?
What Christian goes to church once or twice in twenty months?
Obama is a perfect example of the moral relevancy so beloved by the Progressives. Self-worship is what dictates his actions. Therefore, as BIC so clearly illustrates, he must necessarily reject the concept of a Creator and the accompanying moral conscience that is required of those who recognize a “higher power”. It is important to remember that the Progressive, who personifies The State, considers himself to be beholden to no other identity than himself and thus can justify his perceived omnipotence by disregarding the constraints accepted by our society.
What Christian goes to a racist antisemetic “church”?
What Christian goes to church once or twice in twenty months?
Ronald Reagan? George W. Bush?
Just sayin’…
Neither went to a racist, antisemetic church.
Neither kissed up to islam as they insulted Christianity.
Neither were born a muslim.
Just sayin’…
It matters not if Obama had “gone to church” twice in 21 months or 100 times. What matters most is what resides in his heart. And unless he tells us specifically (and truthfully … both long shots at best) what is there, know one will know but Obama and God.
That being said, regardless of his supposed faith, or lack there of, the man is first and foremost (as noted above) a narcissistic, pitiful example of a human being. He appears to only care for himself. And though he might be polite and civil to friends, family, and those he deems privileged enough to associate with, these actions are predicated on how each interaction effects HIM.
Case in point, recall how many individuals who fit in to any of the above three groups have been “tossed under the bus”, when events (in his mind at least) warranted it.
George Bush was not the greatest president we ever had, but I would not hesitate in accepting a dinner or drink with the man if such was offered. I would even have a drink or two with Bill Clinton (yeah, I would make sure my back was against the wall, and my hand was on my wallet at all times, but still.) granted he was (and is) a bs artist par excellence, but at least he is entertaining. Obama is nothing more then a thug. A very little man in “big boy clothes”. The kindest thing I can say about him is, he is a fool, a pretender, a clown.
Guy,
You forgot “sociopath”. If you think I’m kidding, just wait til after the elections. You are already seeing cracks in his demeanor. I’ve been right about everything so far, dont doubt me now. He is going to get real ugly.
Obama authorizes additional 80,000 “refugees” to entry country
By Dr. Paul L. Williams Friday, October 22, 2010
President Barack Hussein Obama, in a determination letter to Congress, has announced that he will allow an additional 80,000 immigrants – – mostly from Islamic countries – – to resettle in the United States during fiscal year 2011.
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/29096
Mostly from islamic countries? How odd that a “Christian” President would allow additional immigrants from islamic lands. Shame that al-Faheed bailed. Perhaps he could explain it since he loves carrying water for this POS.
I think Obama has misunderstood the concept of God as “our” father. I think he looks at it as more of God being his father.
BIW first and foremost an excellent post,I enjoyed it and in the spirit of Dinesh D’Souza’s latest I think it aligns well with the deeper and more intelligent analysis of Obama as a person.
Tex I found your comment also very good. Contrary to what others may think I agree with a number of your points. Obama is a Christian as he chooses to define it. Many many Americans fall under that category.
“Obama is a Christian as he chooses to define it.”
My thats a “moderate” way to put it. But then, your RINO allies that vote more with demomarxists than Republicans still call themselves Republicans. Moderates like you could care less about core principles and values. Guess thats why you are a wimpy moderate that carries water for a Marxist “president”. And however he wants to define it, doesnt make it true. Unless you think Jesus would support an abortion supporting, racist, antisemetic, marxist as a true follower. Dont answer it wuss. Core principles mean nothing to you.
Obama’s Classmate at Occidental College: “He Was Looking Forward to an Imminent… Revolution, Where the Working Class Would Overthrow the Ruling Class”…

But we will let al-Thuggy define what a marxist is not what a truly marxist is.
/Moderate wuss talking point…
George W. Bush?
Just
sayin’lying…FTFY. Or would you care to point to an actual news organization’s reporting of a specific time period for George W. Bush only going to church once or twice in twenty months?
Besides, I thought being a Christian had to do with what you believe, not when or where you attend prayer services.
What an ass.
Who?

Obama’s turnout pitch to Latinos: Get out there and punish your “enemies”
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/10/25/obamas-turnout-pitch-to-latinos-get-out-there-and-punish-your-enemies/
Remember when the drones said this asshole would unite the nation?
Besides, I thought being a Christian had to do with what you believe, not when or where you attend prayer services.
When? Not really an issue.
Where? Ditto.
But actually attending worship with other believers? Yeah, it matters.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
-Hebrews 10:23-25
Well, I’m not a Christian, so I will accept your knowledge of your own faith.
But to put a fine point on it, “attending worship with other believers” is not the same thing as “going to church”, is it? My wife is a Christian – she has difficulty attending church services every Sunday because we travel to a lot of weekend dog shows. Yet she attends a Bible Study group once a week with her friends. One is “going to church”, the other is “worship with other believers”. But we digress…..
I do not believe President Obama is a Christian (or a Muslim). I think he is an atheist or humanist (not quite sure of the fine points in the difference, really). He does not like references to a Creator because it implies 1) he is mistaken in his beliefs, and 2) there is a higher authority than him.

Its like having Hugo Chavez as “president”
There’s nothing I can say to prepare you for it, except that you’ll run the gamut of emotions. First, shock; then disgust at Reilly; then anger at yourself for finding the absurdity of it funny; then hearty laughter at just how stupid Democrats can be.
I don’t know about his impression of “Kyle”, but this guy would have made a great Frankenstein on Halloween. Put a couple of bolts on his neck and he’s there!
And they call us wingnuts?
Obama: ObamaCare provides “structure” for further gov’t growth
Oh, man, I’ve had it up to here with those lying wingnuts that claim ObamaCare is just a Trojan horse for expansion of government control over health care. This was just a one-time fix, not a structure for increasing regulation and top-down authoritarian control over one-sixth of the American economy. What conservative fearmonger is claiming that it’s all part of an expansionist plot now?
BTW for the drones……..You Lie!!!!!!!
Tex,
Just remember, whatever demomarxists accuse us of, they are guilty of doing it themselves. Hope the video met your expectations. 🙂

Found a pic of Rutherford
http://eye-on-the-world.blogspot.com/2010/10/photo-of-day.html
😆 I think you found him Elric! Where’s my free stuff!
Wow didn’t know you missed me that badly Elric that you’d go searching for pics of me.
Tex, shame on you jumping on this bandwagon.
P.S. A thank you to Alfie for tipping me off to this stupid comment by Elric. Hey Elric, why don’t you go visit Alfie’s blog to see his assessment of your asshattery? Oh yeah I forgot, you can’t comment there cos Alfie decided it was time to ban assh*les 😆
Sorry Rutherford, I’m not jumping on the Alfie sanctimony, holy than thou routine I witnessed this morning. Not shamed a bit.
And yeah, it’s chicken shit to ban someone, then make him the topic of discussion. Fascism, censorship, bullying, whatever one wants to call it, it’s gutless.
That’s Graychin level MSNBC game playing, and I’m not going to be a part of it.
Tex,
Sad, isnt it?
BiW what could have been a thoughtful piece was ruined by the stupid “middle finger” conspiracy.
Another waste of a good mind.
Heh, so the drone does stop by here just too cowardly to comment on the conservative tsunami.
Hey Tex, I think this is Dodger or one of his violent lefty friends all pissed off and violent. You know, the typical leftist drone.

Ohh is that pussy al-Faheed commenting on me? Typical moderate pussy. Love how they out themselves for the cowards they are. Not man enough to engage me here even after banning me but has to be a pussy and have a one way debate about me. PUUUSSSSYYYYYYYYYY 🙂
Tex,
At least you got to find out what al-Faheed is really like.
Nah Elric,
I still believe Alfie one of the good ones, and Rutherford, I enjoy his company and find him a talented author.
But that post this morning on Alfie’s blog was over the top, and I felt somewhat dishonest in its conclusions. Everybody needs to hold themselves to the same standards they apparently demand of others.
Tex,
Well I didnt read it nor have the inclination to but I can imagine. And I must disagree with you with him being “one of the good ones”. He is a left leaning moderate and its people like him is why we are in the position we are in. Plus, when people use fascist tactics as you said, well they arent really all that good, now are they?
And if you want to call someone who makes excuses for this “president” when not ranting about Palin, Bachmann or some other conservative woman as “talented”, welll… 🙂
Alfie is another in a list of enigmas to me. Like Huck. About 90% of the time, I find myself shaking my head in agreement with the both of them.
Then out of the blue, they’ll write something so egregious, I find myself saying “WTH?”
Tex,
They are moderates. I guess I understand them better than you. Nothing they say surprises me. So when he acts likes a pussy and smears me on a blog and isnt even man enough to say it here, all I can say is there goes al-Faheed once again.
The three things that tipped me off early that he is a RINO was one, going after conservative talk radio, two going out of his way to defend this POS “president” so as to seem fair and three. This is my favorite, when used muslism going after the Taliban for burning mosques as proof as muslims can be tolerant when I was talking about Christian churches being burned by muslims and asked where the muslims defending the Christians. Man, I knew right then he was a friggin moron.
Murkowski hints: Maybe I won’t caucus with the GOP after all
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/11/01/murkowski-hints-maybe-i-wont-caucus-with-the-gop-after-all/
And Tex, these are the type of Republicans moderates like al-Faheed suport. The type that we conservatives are suppose to suck up and support.
Drone stupidity on steroids. Bahahahaha!!!!!
Dont cry too hard drones.
Bachmann to Matthews: Hey, how’s that tingly thrill now?
Just for you Dodger. I know you lurk.
Don’t worry Elric. I already mocked Rutherford on his own site with this one.
Classic! 😆
And I can’t tell you how much Rutherford hates this woman.
Sweeeeetttttttt….
Tex,
I found the perfect Christmas gift for Dodger 🙂
