I give my fellow Hostage Rosetta the Impaler a bad time. Sometimes, he even deserves it. And then, in a fit of uncharacteristic sobriety, he manages to bang out something not only worth reading, but linking. Today is one of those days.
From his new masterpiece, Open Letter to Moderate Muslims:
Assuming that you exist, we are to believe that you are the mainstream of the Muslim community as opposed to your extremist brothers that preach hatred from your houses of worship, kill women and homosexuals as sport, detonate bomb belts at weddings and fly planes into buildings.
This is an open letter appeal to you in regards to what has become known as the “9-11 Mosque”.
If your desire is to live in peace with America, a country that has already welcomed more than 2,000 Islamic houses of worship and over 200 in New York alone, you must find a different location for this planned Islamic center.
If your desire is for war with America, then you should proceed as planned.
Go. Get over there and read the whole thing. NOW.
Thanks for the link action, my friend.
Havent heard any muslim groups in the US protest it.
Can one be a devote muslim and a moderate? No.
Thanks Rosetta. Awesome. Succinct. Gutsy. True.
Dang, looks like I missed some great exchanges and bashing liberal heads this weekend.
I agree with Rosetta. Time for “moderate” Muslims to practice what they preach and start introducing their own portion of tolerance.
They can start by building their American Mecca mosque elsewhere. I would suggest the United Nation’s building. 😈
In fact, I volunteer to lay the first few moon rocks.
Tex,
Sorry you missed out. Your input is always welcomed.
Elric,
I see Rutherford spewed his typical lame religious bigotry over the weekend. It’s either the Crusades or priestly pedophilia. To read Rutherford, you would think the sickness pandemic. There was a time before his Satan’s brother Obama imploded that Rutherford could actually debate to a degree – but he was a lot better on the offensive.
Now, after Rutherford’s world was shattered by the cold reality of Bongo’s inanity and predictable and utter failure, Rutherford is left with Christian bashing, and if that doesn’t work, there is always Sarah Palin’s kids.
I think Rutherford’s wife, in her intense jealousy of the glamorous Ms. Palin, stirs him up – probably cut him off too as you know she’s as much a Bongo hack as Rutherford and now manic over the abject disaster known as Progressive politic.
Hell, the other day I noticed Rutherford had twittered that America didn’t deserve Bongo Obama because we weren’t smart enough to appreciate his “greatness” and “intellect.” ** GUFFAW **.
Did I hear another CORPSEMAN stirring in the background? 😆

Tex,
al-Fahhed (Alfie) also exposed himself as a radical just like Dodger. Read in the previous thread what he said about al-THuggy’s church.
But isnt it interesting that people that hate the Christian right with a passion defend islam so easily?
Muslim Soldier Wants to Leave Army.
PFC Abdo grew up in a mixed family (his father was a Muslim and his mother was a non-denominational Christian). In his late teens, PFC Abdo reclaimed his Muslim faith and began to practice his faith as a Muslim.
As a someone who was fairly new to practicing the Islamic faith, he struggled to navigate the moral issues of living in a largely non-Muslim society. There were also many issues that he came to understand more fully in time. One of these issues was that of the morality of service in the military.
On April 8, 2009, PFC Abdo enlisted in the military. When he joined, he did so with the best of intentions. He believed in good faith that a Muslim could be part of the military and still be a faithful Muslim.
Yet, it was during OSUT (one station unit training) at Fort Benning, Georgia that he began to see how difficult it was to be a Muslim in the military. He found himself compromising on issues of importance.

“Moderate”?
Excellent link to peruse. Thanks.
Rosetta never thanks me for links.
Asstruffle.
You have to insult him first. You can manage that, can’t you?
I haven’t read Rosetta’s post yet but if your excerpt, BiW is the best there is, then it’s pretty sad indeed. “Only way to show you’re moderate is to scream uncle.”
Now I’ll go read the piece in the hope you just made a bad choice of excerpt.
Tex, we’ve been “associates” for some time now and as such I tolerate your swipes at my wife over at my blog. Don’t start spreading your trash talk all over the net. My wife has never done a damn thing to you … never addressed any comment to you. In fact, she VERY rarely comments on my blog. So, kindly knock it off.
Rutherford,
What swipe? I was just joking that she cut you off after she adopted a chronic case of Palin Derangement Syndrome and became manic, ‘hypothesizing’ my theory of Rutherford evolution to explain why you’ve become more and more unhinged and derogatory about Christianity and the like. 🙂
You? The man who accused Sarah Palin of naming here Down’s Child over his debilitating disease? The man who has equated the Catholic Church with pedophilia? And somehow you’ve now gotten religion (pun intended) about being the content master of what is permissible on a blog?
Surely you jest…
But out of my profound respect for letting me post at your feckless blog without restriction, please accept my apologies for gigging you by using your beloved as excuse to slap the ass – I’m sure she’s a nice, Sarah Palin hatin’ wife and much better than you deserve. I meant no disrespect to Mrs. Lawson. Mea culpa.
LOL, that she is … that she is.
OK, I’ve read it and I must retract my insult to you BiW. Your excerpt perfectly captured Rosetta’s post.
Rosetta covers ground already covered by countless folks on the right. I’ll focus only on two statements, one with which I agree and one which I find terribly disingenuous.
First, I completely agree with Rosetta that America, taken as a whole, is not Islamaphobic. On the contrary, Muslims are free to practice their religion throughout our nation. Even blow-back against American Muslims post 9/11 was minimal … proven by the fact that had it not been, the so-called “America-hating liberal media” would have been all over it.
However it is disingenuous, to say the least, that we went to Iraq to liberate anyone. We went to both Iraq and Afghanistan to ensure that terrorist organizations would no longer have a safe haven. The only way we know how to do that, besides killing the enemy, is to nurture democratic governments in these countries. Democracy in Iraq, fragile as it is, is a side consequence of our intervention there, not the main goal of our going there.
This is what I would much have preferred to hear from Rosetta:
“Open Letter to Moderate Muslims:
We don’t know you exist because you are too damn quiet. You must speak out openly and publicly against the violent fringe of your religion. We know that you will do this at great personal risk because the violent fringe of your religion are bullies and terrorists. They have you as terrorized as anyone else. But if you wish to show courage and truly stand as equals among your neighbors of different faiths and creeds, then you must come forward and denounce the fringe. You must do it at every opportunity.
If you fail to do so, there is no way that you can be taken seriously as anything but a violent community intent on nothing more than conquest.
Fin.”
However it is disingenuous, to say the least, that we went to Iraq to liberate anyone.
Liberation of a people is always the US Army’s first mission.
Check it out for yourself.
But you weren’t in the service, so you wouldn’t know that.
Now see? You should agree with the post 100%.
😆 Succinct and effective Dick. But your conclusion was the most priceless.
Well, Dick if we’re talking liberation of the American people from fear of another attack like 9/11, then I completely agree with you. 😉
Seriously, I don’t think we can compare Iraq to WWII where we joined a larger cause to defeat an enemy that was crushing innocent people. I kinda wish we’d gotten into that war before the Pearl Harbor bombing, but I digress.
I won’t even delve into the lib talking point that we were in Iraq for oil, or to avenge Saddam’s threat against Bush 41. If we just look at the stated reason for the war, it was that we believed Iraq harbored terrorists and that they had weapons of mass destruction that might be used against us.
In fact, I would be on board totally with you on Desert Storm. We were protecting Kuwait. But the post 9/11 offensive, not so sure.
P.S. You may be talking at a more philosophical level about a goal of our military to keep people free. I won’t argue about that …. I’m talking at a more practical level.
It might be the military’s first mission, but it isn’t the first mission of the politicians who send them.
Yup …. exactly.
I was reading through the weekend posts and comments and this blog is now getting the traffic and respect it deserves. congratulations BIC – I always thought you represented my side well.
And let’s give a warm hand to all the misfits, deviants and cowardly Dans who make up the Dysfunctional Democratic Party (DDP) for their attendance.
All it takes is a few (plural) libs to make some outrageously stupid and misguided retorts with correct grammar and spelling to stir the pot and get things rolling.
Tip of the hat to all.
In a matter of speaking, I agree with Tex on this.
As I said in the comments section of my blog, BiW displays a tolerance (how ironic) that allows libs to come here and speak their minds, without being summarily dismissed. I’ve commented on a couple of other conservative blogs and found the climate not to my liking. BiW’s is an exception.
So I join Tex in a bravo.
P.S. Tex, I must confess that every year that I watch Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, I always identify with the Island of Misfit Toys. 🙂
“R”,
Since we are in a collective circle jerk of congrats, for the record…
You and Hippie are the two libs I’ve met (Chen is nowhere to be found anymore), that is willing to allow our comments to stand without modification or deletion. I compliment you here like I have on your own blog.
And for that, I commend you both. That alone separates you from an insufferable phony and hack like Graychin, who actually advertises on his blog (and lies every day) what you do in action everyday.
Now you can understand why I would drink a beer with you and Hippie, and piss all over Graychin given the chance. 😉
P.S. Tex, I must confess that every year that I watch Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, I always identify with the Island of Misfit Toys.
Charlie In The Box rules!
The next question …. was Charlie in the Box gay? (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) 🙂
In fact, I would be on board totally with you on Desert Storm. We were protecting Kuwait. But the post 9/11 offensive, not so sure.
Trust me, it’s not written down, per say, but it’s there on every last mission.
The Infantry is made up of some of the meanest, brutal, cold blooded, sweetest, most caring individuals you could ever meet.
Cathy, I’m a bit surprised at the us against them attitude you express toward Islam.
A Christian who espouses the most brutal ideas in the Bible is no Christian but a Muslim who espouses the most brutal ideas in the Koran is a typical Muslim. That’s a double standard and a half!
Sorry … I posted this comment to the wrong article.
Cathy, you are so right. Jesus never taught hatred, intolerance and violence like Mo-bomb-ed did. There is no double standard.
Tax dollars for Ground Zero Imam
by Jason Mattera

Unbelievable. You’re not going to guess what our tax dollars are subsidizing. Actually, in this ObamaNation, maybe you will guess it. It turns out that you and I are funding the State Department to purchase and distribute copies of Feisal Abdul Rauf’s book, What’s Right With Islam: A New Vision for Muslims and the West.
http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=38691
No, he isnt a muslim, no not at all. He just favors them. But then, al-Fahhed said he is a Christian. What kind of “christian” would favor muslims, especially a POS like this iman?
Graychin or yellowdog?
Definitely a Graychin or his clone. Dawg wouldn’t be smart enough to turn on the camera. And I expect Graychin has a case of the D.T.’s, explaining the shakes. 🙂

The Government Can Use GPS to Track Your Moves
Government agents can sneak onto your property in the middle of the night, put a GPS device on the bottom of your car and keep track of everywhere you go. This doesn’t violate your Fourth Amendment rights, because you do not have any reasonable expectation of privacy in your own driveway — and no reasonable expectation that the government isn’t tracking your movements.
